Our first Christmas tour this year is a return to The Shanklin Hotel on The Isle of Wight, where we are assured of exceptional service and entertainment.
We will enjoy an excursion to The Needles, an iconic landmark in Alum Bay, home to the famous coloured sands the Island is known for. We then continue on to Cowes, famed for it’s regatta. We finish with a visit to The Donkey Sanctuary, home to over 100 donkeys, mules and Shetland ponies. The café is in a beautiful, converted barn overlooking the paddock where you can enjoy a tea and cake.
On ‘Christmas Day’ you will have a free day in Shanklin to explore the old town with it’s thatched cottages and quaint Christmas Shop, or walk along the front to Sandown, stopping for a coffee on the way at one of the beachfront huts. You will have a free lunch at the hotel and a visit from Father Christmas.
Our final excursion is to Quarr Abbey, situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty and home to Benedictine monks. Wander round the gardens and enjoy a coffee in the tea-rooms, or light a candle in the Abbey at this time of Remembrance. We continue on to Ryde, the largest town on The Isle of Wight, with a rich history, a lively seafront and plenty of shops. Bembridge was voted the National village of the year in 2019 due to its windmill, picturesque harbour and bustling village centre, and we will include a visit during our stay.

One of the best known hotels on the island, The Shanklin is situated in the town with superb views from it’s Starlite restaurant & many bedrooms. The Old Village is a few minutes walk away & the cliff top with sea-views just a short stroll. All the bedrooms have tea/coffee making facilities, TV & hairdryer. There is an indoor pool, lift & separate lounge & bar.
