Autumn Colours In North Devon 26th—30th October

COST PER PERSON: £375 PER PERSON

Includes Lynton Cliff Railway

Our next Autumn tour is to Ilfracombe, home of the famous mermaid sculpture by Damian Hirst, Verity, which stands in the harbour.

We begin with a visit to the twin villages of Lynton & Lynmouth where we take the cliff railway from one to the other. The unique, water powered funicular cliff lift takes you 500 ft up and down to the villages where you have time to explore the independent shops, cafes and learn about the devastating Lynmouth flood of 1952 in the museum. On our return to the hotel we will have a photo-stop at The Valley of The Rocks to enjoy the stunning views.

We have a free day in Ilfracombe so you have time to explore the town and walk around the harbour, or maybe even take a boat trip, weather permitting!

Castle Hill estate has been the home of the Fortescue family since 1684, and we will enjoy a visit to the beautiful gardens with it’s mature trees, historic follies and fountains. We continue to  the historical, market town of South Molton, on the edge of Exmoor National Park. We will spend time here browsing the shops and historic pannier market with it’s amazing plants from a local nursery . There’s always room for a few under the coach!
